MCV4U – February 22, 2016

PLEASE NOTE: THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING A THINKING AND INQUIRY ASSIGNMENT ON WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24 ON THE CONTENT FROM FEBRUARY 4 TO FEBRUARY 17.

The students have their unit 1 test today on rates of change and limits.  The students were given the entire period to write the test if they needed it.  Once they were finished their test, I told the students them to work on the following questions quietly at their desks until the end of the period (Page 83 #1 to 4).  Anything not completed in class is for homework.

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.

When are functions not differentiable? (Resource) (I started to go over this sheet in class on Fri Feb 19 but we ran out of time because I started it at the end of the period.  I told the students today that I wanted them to go over this sheet on their own and that we would talk about it next class.)

When is a function not differentiable? (The students can click on this link and it will take them to YouTube.  The students are to watch this video on their own.  It is related to the resource above and is about 21 minutes long.)
