MCV4U – March 1, 2016

PLEASE NOTE:  THE STUDENTS HAVE GRAD ASSEMBLY DURING PERIOD 5 TODAY.  THEY WILL BE CALLED DOWN AT AROUND 2:15 PM.  THIS MEANS WE WILL HAVE A SHORTENED PERIOD BECAUSE OF THE ASSEMBLY.

ALSO NOTE:  THERE IS A REVISED SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE TOMORROW MARCH 2 FOR THE SPECIAL OLYMPIC BASKETBALL GAME.  I HAVE POSTED A COPY OF THE SCHEDULE BELOW.

Special Olympic Basketball Game Assembly Day Schedule – March 2

I began the class today by telling the students that I would be continuing with the lesson from yesterday on the quotient rule.  We were only able to do example 1 & 2 from the handout titled “MCV4U – The Quotient Rule” and I told the students I wanted to finish example 3 today.

Once I finished with example 3 from yesterday’s lesson, I then told the students that we would be doing a new lesson today on applications of derivatives.  I gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – Various Applications Derviatives”.  I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts).  For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board.  The homework I assigned for today (Do Page 85 #16, 17, 20 & 21 and Page 142 #4ab, 9ab).  Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
