There were a number of students away today for the hoops for heart basketball game so I told the students that were in class today that I would be continuing with the lesson we had started yesterday on multiplying a scalar by a vector. I then gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – Multiplying a Vector by a Scalar Continued”. I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts). For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board. Once we finished the lesson, I then told the students to work on the homework I assigned for today:
1.) Read pages 313 to 324 and then do pages 325 & 326 #1 to 7 – this was assigned on Mon Apr 18 on the topic of adding & subtracting vectors.
2.) Worksheet titled “More Vector Addition & Subtraction Questions”: #2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 & 15 – this was assigned on Wed Apr 20 on the topic of adding & subtracting vectors.
3.) Read pages 329 to 333 and then do #1 to 6 – this was assigned yesterday, Apr 21, on the topic of multiplication of a vector by a scalar.
4.) Worksheet titled “More Vector Multiplication by a Scalar Questions #2, 4, 6, 7, 9 & 10 – this was assigned today related to yesterday’s and today’s lesson.
Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
