TEJ3M/TEJ4M – April 28, 2016

I first reviewed with the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) the lesson we didn’t yesterday titled “Number Systems (Conversions)”.  I showed the students various conversions for decimal, binary, octal and hexadecimal.  This lesson took all of yesterday’s class.  After going over these lessons, I then gave the students some practice to try at their desks.  I put questions up on the white board and the students did them at their desks.  We then took up the answers together as a class.  Once we finished this activity, I told the students to first work on the following worksheets:  “Binary to Decimal (and vice versa)”, “Octal to Decimal (and Vice Versa)” and “Hex to Decimal (and vice versa)”.  I told the students I would post the answers to these worksheets so they can check once they have finished (see below).  Once the students have completed all of the worksheets listed above, then they are to complete the worksheet titled “Binary, Octal, Hexadecimal & Decimal Review Worksheet” (This one is to be marked).

The grade 12’s (TEJ4M) are a race bot (dragster) which will be timed.  30 tiles have been measured in the hallway and marked off with tape.  The students will be give 3 chances to get their best time (I will time the students and take the best of 3 to be marked).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
