I began the class today by telling the students that I would be doing a new lesson today on vectors in three space. I first gave the students a handout titled “Introduction to Three Space (Investigation)”. I told the students to find a partner and to do this investigation quietly in their pairs. I gave the students some time to work through this worksheet and then we took up the answers as a class. Once we finished this investigation, I then gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – Vectors in Three Space (R3) (blank)” I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts). For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board. Once we finished the lesson, I then told the students to work on the homework I assigned for today (Read pages 387 to 393 and then do page 399 # 1 to 14). Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
MCV4U – Introduction to Three Space (Investigation) (This is the first handout I gave the students to work on at the start of class in pairs before we started the lesson today.)
MCV4U – Introduction to Three Space (Investigation) ANSWERS (We took up these answers as a class once the students had a chance to complete these in their groups.)
MCV4U – Vectors in Three Space (R3) (filled-in) (I put up the answers to the examples using the black board and digital projector.)
