MCV4U – May 9, 2016

IMPORTANT NOTICE #1:  THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING THEIR THINKING AND INQUIRY ASSIGNMENT FOR UNIT 6 ON FRI MAY 13 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM APR 27 TO MAY 10.

IMPORTANT NOTICE #2:  THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING THEIR UNIT 6 TEST ON MON MAY 16 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM APR 27 TO MAY 10.

I began the class today by telling the students that I would be doing a new lesson today on the cross product.  I then gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – The Cross Product & Its Properties”.  I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts).  For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board.  We were unable to get through all of the examples today so I told the students I would finish off the last example that was left at the start of tomorrow’s class.   I then told the students to work on the homework I assigned for today (Page 385 #13 & 14 (this if from the dot product lesson), Page 400 #16 to 19 (this is from the vector projection lesson), Read pages 403 to 409 and then do page 410 #1 to 4 (this is from today’s lesson)).  Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.

Unit 4 Test Solutions (I handed the unit 4 test back to the students that they wrote on Apr 20.  The students can check their tests with these solutions and come see me if they have any questions.)

Unit 5 Thinking Assignment Solutions (I handed the unit 4 test back to the students that they wrote on May 2.  The students can check their assignments with these solutions and come see me if they have any questions.)

MCV4U – The Cross Product & Its Properties (filled-in) (I put up the answers to the examples using the black board and digital projector.  We did not finish the lesson today, we still have example 4 to do.  I told the students we would do example 4 at the start of tomorrow’s class.)
