I began the class today by telling the students that I would be doing a new lesson today on equations of planes. I gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – Equations of Planes”. I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts). For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board. We ran out of time today and were unable to finish the lesson. We got up to example 1. I told the students I would continue this lesson on Tue May 24 and would finish off example 2. I mentioned to the students that I would post a few videos that I wanted them to watch (see below). This should help them with the homework. I then assigned the homework for today’s class (Read Pages 441 to 450 and then do page 451 #1 to 9). Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
MCV4U – Equations of Planes (blank) (Handout)
MCV4U – Equations of Planes (filled-in) (I put up the answers to the examples using the black board and digital projector. We only did up to example 1 in class today. We still have to do example 2 which I will do on Tue May 24.)
Equation of Planes Sample Video Lesson (I showed the students part of the video and told them to watch this video again on their own to show them how to find the equation of a plane. The login is “mts” and the password is “mcv4u”.)
Extra Examples of Equations of Planes (Since we were unable to get to finish the lesson today, I told the students to watch this video with some extra examples of equations of planes. The login is “mts” and the password is “mcv4u”.)
