MCV4U – June 15, 2016

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  THE STUDENTS FINAL ASSESSMENTS ARE WORTH A TOTAL OF 30% (TERM MARK IS WORTH 70%).  THE FINAL ASSESSMENTS CONSIST OF A FINAL PROJECT WORTH 9% AND A FINAL EXAM WORTH 21%.  THE FINAL PROJECT WILL BE GIVEN OVER 2 DAYS.  THE FINAL PROJECT DAY 1 VECTORS WILL BE ON WED JUNE 15 AND THE FINAL PROJECT DAY 2 CALCULUS WILL BE ON TUE JUNE 21.  BOTH DAYS OF THE FINAL PROJECT ARE OPEN BOOK AND STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE THEIR NOTES ONLY FOR THIS ASSESSMENT.  THE FINAL EXAM WILL BE ON TUE JUNE 28 FROM 9:00 AM TO 11:30 AM.  PLEASE BRING IN YOUR TEXTBOOK.  ALSO, STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A FORMULA SHEET ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM TO USE.  STUDENTS MAY USE A NON-GRAPHICAL CALCULATOR FOR FINAL ASSESSMENTS BUT NO OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE PERMITTED.

The students have their part 1 of their final culminating task on vectors today.  The students were given the entire period to write the test if they needed it.  Once they were finished their test, I told the students them to work on the worksheet titled “MCV4U – Exam Review Worksheet Day 3”.  This is the start of the calculus review which the students did before midterm.  Anything not completed in class is for homework.  Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.

MCV4U – Exam Review Day 3 (blank) (Handout) (The students can work on these questions for homework.  I will be assigning these questions for tomorrow’s class and will take these up as well.  There are a number of students away for the athletics awards banquet tomorrow, so I thought I would assign these to the students today so they could get a head start reviewing for calculus for the final task on Tue June 21 and the final exam on Tue June 28.)

Final Exam Review Presentation – Calculus (I am going to go over this presentation with the students at the start of tomorrow’s class.  This is a review of the concepts the students did before midterm.)
