MCV4U – May 10, 2016

IMPORTANT NOTICE #1:  THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING THEIR THINKING AND INQUIRY ASSIGNMENT FOR UNIT 6 ON FRI MAY 13 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM APR 27 TO MAY 10.

IMPORTANT NOTICE #2:  THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING THEIR UNIT 6 TEST ON MON MAY 16 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM APR 27 TO MAY 10.

I began the class today by telling the students we had one more example to finish off from yesterday’s lesson titled “MCV4U – The Cross Product & Its Properties”.

After finishing off the example, I told the students that I would be doing a new lesson today on the applications of the dot product and the cross product.  I then gave the students a handout titled “MCV4U – Applications of the Cross Product & Dot Product”.  I told the students that there were some things from the handout I would just be going over and that they would not have to fill anything in (I suggested they highlight important concepts).  For the examples that required students to fill things in, I put it up on the digital projector and then I went over the examples using the projector and the black board.  We were unable to get through all of the examples today so I told the students I would finish off the last example that was left at the start of tomorrow’s class.   I then told the students to work on the homework I assigned for today (Do pages 410 & 411 #1 to 4 – assigned this yesterday, 6 to 9, 13, 16a & 17a and Read pages 413 to 417 and then do page 418 #1, 3, 4a, 5a, 6 & 7).  Students are encouraged to email me if they have any questions from the homework ahead of time (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
